China is planning to build a replica of Salvidor Dali's coastal hometown of Cadaques, Spain as a tourist attraction. "The developers hope that the replica town will become popular with Chinese tourists who want to experience Spanish culture without the long haul flight." Indonesia is concerned over the loss of their native language of Bahasa as children learn English from a young age at home and in private school. Air conditioning guzzles 15% of the energy consumption in the United States. Smithsonian published a lengthy article from Joel Kotkin on the demographics of the 400 million Americans in 2050. Kotkin wrote a series of articles on America in 2050 earlier this year.

I got a grant from the Ford Foundation to complete a project about asylum seekers here in Austria. As usual things are going slowly but that's why I will be here for three months.
